Pierre BARNABÉ, 42, has been appointed as Chief operating officer at Bull Group. Since August 2011, Pierre Barnabé was Executive Vice President of the SFR Business Team. He began his career with Thales in capital venture activities. In 1998, he joined Alcatel-Lucent where he held various positions (Vice President Sales France, Vice President Sales Southern Europe) before becoming CEO of Alcatel-Lucent France.
Evidian, a subsidiary of the Bull Group and European leader in Identity and Access Management (IAM), has been awarded the prize for ‘Best IAM Solution’ at the SC Awards Europe 2013 ceremony, organized by SC Magazine to recognize excellence in information security in Europe. Evidian’s IAM Suite software came out on top against six other internationally available IAM solutions, as judged by SC Magazine.
Recognition for Bull’s alliance with EMC in data protection and recovery. Bull has just been awarded the EMC EMEA Best Partner 2013 in data protection and recovery, at the EMC 2013 Global Partner Summit in Las Vegas. The main EMC products covered by this award are: Networker: centralized back-up/restore software solution Avamar: back-up/restore management system Data Domain: high-performance ‘on the fly’ data de-duplication appliance with optional network replication.
Having obtained EAL3+ Common Criteria certification, Bull’s MetaPKI software now achieves ANSSI standard qualification.
Obtaining both certifications confirms MetaPKI’s inherent security and reaffirms Bull’s role as a trusted supplier of security solutions for its international and French customer base. Bull has achieved EAL3+ Common Criteria certification and ANSSI standard qualification for its Public Key management software solution, MetaPKI.
Madrid, xx February 2013 Bull Spain has successfully achieved the Maturity Level 3 rating during its recent Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) for Development appraisal. The CMMI® Level 3 rating was awarded for the software development business line delivering services both on its own Service Centers and on customer’s premises.

Evidian’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) software suite is competing for SC Magazine’s Best IAM Solution award.
Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Economy, Johan Vande Lanotte, has appointed Saskia Van Uffelen, CEO of Bull Belgium as the country’s ‘Digital Champion’. The appointment is the culmination of an initiative taken by Neelie Kroes, European Commissioner responsible for the Digital Agenda, who invited every Member State to nominate a ‘Digital Champion’, reflecting the Commission’s desire to tackle the digital challenge.

French weather forecasting agency Météo-France orders Bull’s new-generationsupercomputers, to deliver total peak power in excess of 5 Petaflopsby 2016
Bullx™ supercomputers will be used for weather forecasting and climate research. Featuring a highly innovative liquid cooling system, the bullx supercomputers chosen by Météo-France will have a very limited carbon footprint. Météo-France – the French weather forecasting agency – has chosen bullx B700 DLC supercomputers from Bull for their new-generation processing requirements.
The Engineering Department at Asco Industries uses a bullx supercomputer. For Bull, this represents its third HPC customer in the Belgian aerospace industry, along with Sonaca and Ceanero. Asco – the Belgium-based company that has specialized for almost 60 years in manufacturing spare parts and materials for the aeronautical industry – has chosen a bullx supercomputer to run its simulations.
GENCI is honored for the “Best use of HPC in edge HPC application” for its contribution using the CURIE bullx supercomputer, for the first full Universe simulation, Observatoire de Paris Annual HPCwire Awards demonstrate achievements of excellence within the HPC community at the SuperComputing Conference held this year in Salt Lake City, Utah.

According to the judges, Bull’s R&D labs optimized its hardware with 2TB RAM hosts, delivering 600+ VMs and it is still growing.
