The 2011 HPCwire Reader’s Choice Award confirms Bull as a world-class leader in the HPC market

At the SuperComputing 2011 conference in Seattle, the readers of HPCwire – the world’s most highly respected on-line magazine for the HPC industry – voted Tera 100 as the “TOP supercomputing achievement” of the year, confirming Bull as a global player and a world-class leader in Extreme Computing.  Bull is one of the very few companies in the world designing and delivering supercomputers that produce everything from a few Teraflops to several Petaflops, and capable of running applications 24×7.

Designed by Bull in partnership with the CEA Defense (CEA/DAM) for the French nuclear weapons simulation program, Tera 100 supercomputer has a technological leadership in the marketplace being ranked number one in Europe since one year, in the TOP500 listing. The new recognition from HPCwire comes in the wake of numerous other awards received by Bull, most notably in 2009 when bullx was named as the world’s best supercomputing technology at its launch and one of the top five new products to watch, and in 2010 when Bull was among the ‘Top 5 Vendors to Watch in 2011’.

The highly-coveted HPCwire Reader’s Choice Awards are determined through on-line polling of the global HPCwire audience, along with a rigorous selection process involving HPCwire editors and industry luminaries. The awards are an annual feature of the publication and constitute prestigious recognition from the HPC community. The awards are revealed during the Monday opening reception at the Supercomputing Conference each year, which showcases High-Performance Computing, networking, storage and data analysis.

“HPCwire readers are regarded as amongst the most discerning in the HPC community, and these awards represent which HPC-related companies are making the biggest impact each year within this populace,” said Tom Tabor, publisher of HPCwire. “The HPCwire Reader’s and Editor’s Choice Awards send a succinct message to the recipients that their peers globally across the HPC community recognize their work, and consider their efforts exemplary. Our congratulations go out to all the winners.”
