Founded as Bull Deutschland Lochkartenmaschinen GmbH in July 1960, our German subsidiary now counts more than 500 employees and celebrated its 50th anniversary this year

It was a hot and sunny summer day when the Bull Germany team celebrated the 50th anniversary of the company’s subsidiary at the Geissbockheim, the training ground of Cologne-based football team FC Köln. In total, 400 customers and Bull employees attended the event.

At the official ceremony, two local politicians, Manfred Wolf, Major of the City of Cologne and Wolfgang Bosbach, Member of the German Bundestag gave their vision on Bull, while the three Michaels (Michael Gerhards/Bull Germany CEO, Michael Heinrichs/Bull Germany CFO and Michel Lepert/Bull Western Europe VP) presented the highlights and evolution of Bull Germany over the past 50 years. Achim Flanhardt, CIO of Barmenia (a Bull customer for the past 40 years) and Professor Dr. Thomas Lippert, Head of the Jülich Supercomputing Center, explained why working with Bull is such a valuable experience.

Following a barbecue, the guests had the opportunity to buy lottery tickets: with the first prize of an Apple iPad. In total, the German team collected €5,000, which was donated to charities that support children suffering from cancer and underprivileged families facing hardship.
