In June 2009, we launched bullx; less than six months later it was named in the US as ‘the world’s best supercomputer’. And we have just strengthened this family of supercomputers with new, even more powerful models to meet the needs of even the most memory-hungry applications.
Our strategy to invest in High-Performance Computing (HPC), which we embarked some few years ago, has now enabled us to return with force to the market for large-scale enterprise servers, with novascale bullion. We focused our R&D initially on scientific applications for the HPC market, in order then to reuse this know-how on our enterprise servers. The result is a range of extremely powerful and efficient enterprise servers, ideal for open virtualization since they are built on the ‘Formula 1′ systems designed for parallel computing. The world’s first machine to natively integrate VMware, bullion will enable CIOs regain control of their infrastructures, now that the proliferation of small-scale servers is becoming a real nightmare, and a huge financial and ecological waste.
bullion: the essential cornerstone of the digital economy
Tomorrow’s world will be hyper-connected, creating massive amounts of data. We are on the brink of a major revolution, and we are only just seeing the first signs of it. And the multitude of potential applications in the digital economy, with phenomenal quantities of information flowing through its networks, cannot become a practical or cost-effective reality unless the underlying infrastructures can support them. The answer: shared and outsourced computing ‘power plants’ (the Cloud computing model) or even operated internally, using big, centralized systems like bullion. These efficient, reliable and secure systems will enable organizations to respond positively to the key economic, environmental and social challenges of the future.
You can count on Bull, as the European leader in large-scale, high security computer processing infrastructures, to help you seize all the opportunities offered by the digital world.
Thank you again for putting your trust in Bull.
