Launched in June, bullx™ has just been named as the “Best HPC server product or technology’ in the world, by HPCwire, the leading journal focusing on the world of computer simulation and High-Performance Computing (HPC). The result of a vote taken among a panel of renowned experts from the world of HPC and the choice of correspondents from the world of industry, this honour has been further supported by the readers of HPCwire, who have also ranked bullx as one of the ‘Top 5 new products or technologies to watch in 2010’.
This dual award – which recognizes Bull’s skills in Extreme Computing and confirms its vitality* – is a moment of enormous pride for everyone in the Group. All the more so since bullx has been winning over a number of prestigious customers: most recently the Brazilian oil company Petrobras, world leader in off-shoring, who are planning to deploy the most powerful supercomputer in Latin America with Bull’s help.
Another gratifying sign: our outsourcing solutions are achieving a faster growth rate than the market as a whole. In a world that is constantly being turned upside-down, outsourcing definitely represents a system of IT governance capable of solving today’ challenges. Much more than just handing over systems to an external supplier, for us this approach is a real partnership that actively creates value for the customer, combining leading-edge resources with rapid return on investment: a surefire way of maintaining control over your information systems while ensuring that they are just as agile as they need to be.
